HOW TO CONNECT TAX AND SOCIAL POLICY?

“The disconnection between income tax classes and the classes that determine the amount of various social transfers (for example cash social assistance, child allowance) and the amount of subsidies (for snacks, lunch, kindergarten…) can lead to the fact that it is more favorable for the individual and the family – from the point of view of their net disposable income – if they do not receive higher incomes from work. This is contrary to the fundamental goals of social policy and brings more and more concerns about the fairness of the system into society, and in the long term puts solidarity as a fundamental building block of social policy into uncertainty.”
